A journalist’s job is not to PUBLICISE or EDUCATE.
A journalist’s job is to write an accurate article that is also well-written and fulfills the needs of the target publication and its readership. Full stop.
Now out of doing this job well, your article(s) may indeed publicise a good cause and educate readers about something they should know. But don’t have your eye on publicising and educating. Be centred on your role as a straight-forward journalist, and do it so well that these matters come about anyway.
