Affect vs Effect

Affect and effect.  Many people mix them up.

Affect as a verb, means to influence: How did she affect the outcome?

Effect as a verb, means to bring about a result: The movers effected a speedy move.

Effect as a noun, means a result: The music had a soothing effect on everyone.

Do NOT get it wrong.  Editors HATE being forced to correct basic writing.  Such simple, avoidable mistakes make a journalist look foolish.
