Academic letters after name

In mainstream publications, journalists do not include academic letters after a person’s name, such as BA, or BSc or AIMM.

Why?   Because most readers don’t know what these letters mean.  It also looks like you’re being overly and unnecessarily respectful.  A BA (Bachelor of Arts) is an ordinary degree.  If  someone has a BSc (Bachelor of Science) you’ve probably already described that person as some sort of scientist or medical person.
